Drobo Selected As One of the "Most Promising" New Products at "Launch: Silicon Valley 2007"

Data Robotics is Tapped from Among 30 Companies Vying for Distinctions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — June 6, 2007 — The Silicon Valley Association of Startup Entrepreneurs (SVASE) today announced that it selected Data Robotics as one of the "Most Promising New Companies" after its demonstration of Drobo at "Launch: Silicon Valley 2007".

To culminate the June 5 SVASE event, held at the Microsoft Silicon Valley Campus, Data Robotics was one of seven companies signaled out by the audience as a top presenter. Awards included:

"We are extremely pleased to pave the way for some excellent new companies and products entering the marketplace. Although we had to narrow down our salutations to just a few, there was tremendous talent as well as enthusiasm for the entrepreneurial spirit unearthed at this event," said Chris Gill, President and CEO of SVASE.

More than 160 companies internationally applied for presentation spots at "Launch: Silicon Valley" and were narrowed down to 30 presenters by the event's prestigious board of venture advisors. Each presenting company made a 10-minute onstage presentation to the voting audience of 300-plus in attendance at the event.

"It is exciting to receive recognition like this from SVASE," said Dr. Geoff Barrall, CEO and Co-Founder of Data Robotics. "The category of personal storage is not one that might quickly come to mind when one thinks of innovation and consumer electronics, yet our product and technology is truly revolutionary in this space. Garnering attention from other technologists internationally is an honor."

Drobo is the first fully automated storage robot, designed to ensure data is always protected, potential storage capacity is unlimited and it is exceptionally easy to manage. A product for "prosumers" and small businesses, Drobo limits the amount of human interaction required for storage management and includes some of the most advanced automated features available - including self-monitoring, self-healing and an easy-to-understand visual status and alert panel. The company introduced the product yesterday to much acclaim. Accolades included noted bloggers, analysts, photographers and digital media enthusiasts.

"This is the best approach to personal backup and storage that I've seen or tried yet," said Thomas Hawk, photographer, digital media enthusiast and CEO of Zoomr. "In short, it's the best solution for managing external storage needs I have used," Jupiter analyst Michael Gartenberg wrote in his review.
