DATA ROBOTICS NAMED "COOL VENDOR" BY LEADING ANALYST FIRM

Company Selected for “Cool Vendor Report” Based on Innovation, Impact and Intrigue

Mountain View, CA — April 15, 2008 — Data Robotics, the makers of Drobo, the world’s first storage robot, today announced that Gartner, a technology research and analyst firm, has named Data Robotics to its "Cool Vendors in Storage, 2008" report, published on April 1, 2008 and authored by Pushan Rinnen, et al. The company was one of five technology vendors evaluated in this year's Cool Vendors report.

Data Robotics offers Drobo, an external storage system that takes a step beyond traditional data storage options by adding a layer of intelligence and configurability to simplify operations and enable customers to easily expand storage capacity as the user's data collection grows over time. Drobo can be augmented by DroboShare, a companion product that allows Drobo to be safely accessed and shared over a network.

Since launching Drobo in 2007 Data Robotics has been honored with 15 industry awards and accolades and gained a widespread following of customers and enthusiasts who have embraced its technology as the easiest-to-use, most expandable and safest multi-drive desktop storage array available. The company says this widespread recognition validates its ability to solve a real need in the industry.

“Data Robotics has grown its customer base exponentially in more than 14 countries around the world. This success points to the demand for safe, expandable storage solutions that don’t require technical expertise for setup or management,” said Jillian Mansolf, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Data Robotics. “Being named a cool vendor by Gartner is further recognition in our marketplace and is another important milestone for us.”

About Gartner's Cool Vendors Selection Process
Gartner defines a cool vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: Innovative, enable users to do things they couldn't do before; Impactful, have, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of technology); Intriguing, have caught Gartner's interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months.

Gartner's listing does not constitute an exhaustive list of vendors in any given technology area, but rather is designed to highlight interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services.
