The Story Behind the Winning Photo
Entering Yosemite National Park for the first time, Wille felt tranquility as he viewed the magnificent glaciers, valleys and sequoias. Holding a crystal ball in one hand and his Olympus PEN E-PL7 in the other, he was inspired to capture the marvel of the colorful landscape.
Hues of gold, blue and green formed into a crystal ball as Wille slowly turned it to reflect Yosemite’s Half Dome. Looking at the ball’s reflection, the gold peak stood out between the ridges and sequoias. He lifted his camera and snapped, capturing a new world.
“Even if you take a photo at a location that has been photographed 1000 times, you can still make it your own and inspire others to do the same,” Wille said.
Before he could remember, Wille was captivated into the power of photography and exploration.
“My favorite part about shooting is my belief that a single photo has the ability to inspire or even change someone’s life,” Wille said.
This powerful photo, captured not only the heart of Yosemite, but stood out from hundreds of submissions to win Drobo’s Spring Photo Contest.
