SQA Engineer

Overview

Drobo is a thriving data storage company headquartered in San Jose, CA and currently has 90+ employees. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic SQA Engineer who will be responsible for the Quality Assurance of Drobo’s breakthrough storage technologies. As a member of a high-caliber Software Quality Assurance team, you will be involved with the planning, execution, and automation testing cutting-edge storage technologies. You will also understand usage patterns of customers and map them to practical test scenarios. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Automated and manual test planning, development, and execution using Perl
• Functional, system, performance, and interoperability test execution
• Testing in virtual environments
• Understand technical aspects of Drobo product line
• Troubleshoot problems and analyze test results effectively
• Effective communication of issues, progress, and results

Job Specifications/Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience
• BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience with testing SAN, NAS, and DAS storage technology
• Understanding of virtualization applications VMware, XenServer, Hyper-V; certification a strong plus
• Experience with test case development in Perl
• Strong knowledge of MS Windows, Mac OS-X, and Unix/Linux; experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting operating systems a must
• Experience using test management, defect tracking, and source code management systems; Testlink, Jira and Subversion a plus
• Experience with basic networking configuration and topologies
• Performance testing with Quickbench a plus
• Stress testing with Medusa a plus
