Senior SQA Engineer
Overview
As a Senior SQA Engineer, you will be responsible for quality assurance of Drobo’s breakthrough storage technologies. As a member of a high-caliber Software Quality Assurance team, you will be involved with the planning, execution, and automation of testing cutting-edge storage technologies. You will also understand usage patterns of customers and map them to practical test scenarios. The successful candidate will have to be able to multitask in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced environment
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and manage SQA projects
- Represent SQA in cross-functional product teams
- Participate in the planning, development, execution, and maintenance of manual and automated tests in SAN, NAS, and DAS storage environments
- Communicate progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner
- Understand Drobo product technology in sufficient detail to analyze results and troubleshoot problems
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of and experience with SQA processes and methodologies
- Ability to manage and drive test projects to completion on schedule
- Ability to develop industry-standard and high-level test plans, to test design and procedure specifications, and to report results
- Experience in functional, system, performance, and interoperability testing
- Technical understanding of SAN, NAS, and DAS storage technologies
- Experience in native GUI testing in Windows and Mac environments
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V, XenServer); certification a strong plus
- Strong knowledge of network configuration
- Strong knowledge of test infrastructure and test case development in Perl
- Strong knowledge of MS Windows, Mac OS-X and Unix/Linux; experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting operating systems
- Capable of effective communication, presentation, leadership, and follow-up
- Excellent team player with ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong experience using test management, defect tracking, and source code management systems; experience with TestLink, Jira, and Subversion a plus
- Experience with embedded environments such as VxWorks and Linux a plus
- Knowledge of test tools such as Wireshark, JetStress, QuickBench, IOMeter, Medusa (MLTT) a plus
