Technical Marketing Engineer

Overview

Drobo is seeking a Technical Marketing Engineer with experience in storage to join a fast paced, dynamic company supporting a global team and customer base.

This role will work closely with Sales, Product Management and third-party organizations to create technical content, host training webinars, and provide technical assistance on Sales calls as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create technical content on performance, features, technologies and solutions
  • Manage technical relationships with third-party organizations
  • Become the go-to technical expert for both inside and field Sales teams
  • Assist Sales team members as needed for pre-sales technical help
  • Create test environments as required for customer solutions
  • Train Sales team on new features and products
  • Host product training webinars targeted at both customers and partners
  • Attend and staff events, trade shows, seminars, etc. as required
  • Respond to online questions via user forums and live chat

Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate technology in person and remotely through web-based tools such as GoToMeeting
  • Excellent written and oral speaking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to travel for work
  • Experience deploying appliance-based solutions on customer premises for proof of concept and evaluation
  • Strong understanding of industry landscape including DAS, NAS, SAN, backup, virtualization, and cloud
  • Experience and understanding of key industry technologies including Active Directory, SQL, Exchange and VMware
  • Experience with all major computing platforms including Windows, Mac, and Linux
  • Experience with VMware certification a plus

Requirements

  • Must have a passion to win
  • College degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of related industry experience
  • Experience selling systems in both B2C & B2B environments
